Hearts on Fire Intimacy Kit – Review

The final item for review from Pleasure Galaxie was the Hearts on Fire Mini Intimacy Kit. The kit includes, a 1oz. Ignite Me massage candle, scented with pomegranate mint, A mini Rub Me massage bar, scented in french vanilla, a mini waterproof bullet vibrator, and a sample packet of Please Me lubricant. It comes in a cute, little purse style container.

I like the concept of this kit, which includes both sexually oriented items as well as massage products. However, there wasn’t a lot about this kit that really did it for me.

The candle, made with soy wax, soybean oil, coconut oil, shea butter and fragrance oil, performed well enough as a massage candle. The oil was not sticky at all and had a nice glide. Unfortunately, I have two gripes about this massage candle: First, it burned very quickly. Within 10 minutes of being lit, the candle was more than half melted, providing little more than a small puddle of oil in my hand – certainly not sufficient for even a short foot massage. Secondly, the smell is terribly strong. When I initially smelled it, before lighting it, it was tolerable, if a bit strong. However, once the candle was lit, the entire smell just flooded the room. Once the oil was in my hands, I began to get a headache. This is a prime example of why essential oils are superior to fragrance oils. Though they can be strong and permeate an entire room, essential oils will not make you sick from smelling them. I ended up rushing to wash my hands before the smell made me even more sick, and unfortunately, the smell just stuck with me all day.

The mini massage bar gave me the same aroma troubles as the candle. The bar, scented in french vanilla, was extremely potent. I, again, found that I had to immediately stop using it and wash my hands. If the manufactures had gone with an unscented massage bar, or a bar scented with essential oils, it would have been great. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get past the strong scent.

The one thing I really did like was the Please Me lubricant. It’s made of Deionized Water, Propylene Glycol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth-20, Isopropyl Palmitate, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG/PPG-18/18 Dimethicone, Cellulose Gum, Polysorbate-60, Immidazolidinyl Urea, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Lactic Acid, Disodium EDTA. Water based and glycerin free, it has a thick, creamy look and texture. The fact that it’s water based and is of a substantial textured makes it great for not only play with toys and standard PIV sex, but also anal play. Even better? The Please Me lubricant is also totally free from flavor or taste of any kind, making oral sex accessible without the gross flavoring of some lubes. What I loved most about the Please Me lube was the fact that it looked sexy when It was on my body. Instead of being plain old, clear, drippy lube, it basically looked like cum….sexy. The only thing to be aware of with this lube is that it contains Propylene Glycol and some other things many people have adverse reactions to. So, if you have a sensitivity, I’d choose a different lube.

The final item in this kit was a small waterproof, bullet vibrator. It is powered with two watch batteries, which are included in the kit. It provided a small amount of vibration, as anticipated with toys powered by watch batteries, and wasn’t enough to get me off. However, for those who are looking for a small tease or are, perhaps, more sensitive than I, it’s a nice addition to the set.

I want to thank Pleasure Galaxie, once again, for being such a great company to work with and for providing such a wide variety of massage products. They are, by far, the place I recommend for top quality oils, lotions, and candles. And now that you know about the different things to look for in a massage product, I’m sure you’ll find something to suit your needs at Pleasure Galaxie.
